Andy Brown is an experienced lawyer who has focused on intellectual property and technology matters. Andy prides himself on using creative thinking and his deep litigation background to efficiently and effectively pursue his clients' goals.

Andy's primary background is in patent litigation, where he has important experience through all phases of litigation. He has an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering and is comfortable with new technologies.

Andy is registered to practice in front of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and he spent several years in a practice focused on developing Patent Trial and Appeal Board expertise. He has represented both patent owners and petitioners in inter partes reviews in front of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. And he has handled all aspects of those proceedings, up to and including oral argument in front of the Board as lead counsel.

Andy also has significant experience in the U.S. District Courts. He has managed all aspects of discovery and pre-trial practice, including taking lead in arguing claim construction. He also knows how cases are tried. He has been a member of a trial team that obtained a complete defense win for an accused infringer at trial, as well as a trial team that obtained a significant money judgment for a patent owner against its rival. Those experiences influence all aspects of Andy's practice.

Andy has also been responsible for strategy and briefing on several appeals to the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He has represented both patent owners and accused infringers in appeals from both the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and the U.S. District Courts as both appellants and appellees. In addition to appeals in matters he handled below, Andy has also been brought on to cases post-judgment to provide appellate expertise.
